Thunder and Lightning é o décimo segundo e último álbum de estúdio da banda de hard rock irlandesa Thin Lizzy lançado em 1983.http://www.allmusic.com/album/thunder-and-lightning-mw0000546597 Contrataram o guitarrista John Sykes para substituir Snowy White depois do álbum de 1981 Renegade, e Sykes trouxe um som mais pesado do que o mostrado anteriormente. Ainda assim, a grande maioria das canções (excepto "Cold Sweat") já estavam compostas antes dele chegar. O tecladista Darren Wharton também inseriu influências musicais no disco, co-escrevendo muitas músicas, incluindo "Some Day She Is Going to Hit Back" e o último single do disco, "The Sun Goes Down".
Esse foi o último álbum e o penúltimo trabalho (seguido do single Nineteen lançado em 1985, um ano antes da sua morte) feito pelo baixista e vocalista da banda de Phil Lynott em vida, antes de sua morte causada por overdose de drogas e álcool como complicações de Insuficiência cardíaca e pneumonia.
