O (no original em inglês Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay) é uma categoria de premiação do Óscar referente a roteiros e aos roteiristas, entregue desde 1929; considerada uma dos mais importantes prêmios para filmes oferecidos pela Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas. É entregue anualmente à um roteirista cujo roteiro foi adaptado de outra fonte (geralmente um romance literário, uma peça de teatro, um jogo eletrônico, uma série de televisão, ou, em alguns casos, outro filme). Todas as sequências são consideradas adaptações por esse padrão (já que uma sequência deve ser baseada em uma história original).
Em 1933 não houve cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios Oscar, devido serem entregues duas vezes em 1930 (em abril, referente aos filmes produzidos no período de 2 de agosto de 1928 à 31 de julho de 1929 e, em novembro, referente aos filmes produzidos no período de 1º de agosto de 1929 à 31 de julho de 1930); em 1931 (em novembro, referente aos filmes produzidos no período de 1.º de agosto de 1930 à 31 de julho de 1931); em 1932 (em novembro, referente aos filmes produzidos no período de 1.º de agosto de 1931 à 31 de julho de 1932); e em 1934 (em março, referente aos filmes produzidos no período de 1.º de agosto de 1932 à 31 de dezembro de 1933).
